An error occurred while saving the comment An error occurred while saving the comment Sorry, you are right. It uses the older Lights-out-mode rather than the newer Immersive mode. Thanks for pointing this out. I may look at this again in the future.
An error occurred while saving the comment Hi Eric,
This is already possible by double-tapping in the middle of the screen.

An error occurred while saving the comment Apologies, this isn't very intuitive. It was one of the first things implemented 7 years ago and I plan to improve it. You must select the verse (long-press) then select 'Footnotes and references' from the menu.

An error occurred while saving the comment I implemented this a few years ago but did not release it. I think the difficulty was the lack of space in action bars on small phones. I might take another look at this in the future.

An error occurred while saving the comment A strange comment! The first version of And Bible used a simple list for book selection and I received consistent requests for a grid.
I really don't think this request is going anywhere.

An error occurred while saving the comment Well spotted. I realised I got the storage location wrong some weeks after release. I would hope to fix this too but am working on other things atm.

An error occurred while saving the comment Sam has begun to look at implementing 'proper swipe' but it is tricky and there is a long way to go.

An error occurred while saving the comment I will probably add a 'Disable all speech' setting eventually which will remove all Speak features from the app, but it is a case of priorities and I have a lots to do but limited time. Speak is integrated throughout and I personally use it a lot.
An error occurred while saving the comment If you hit speak by mistake then quickly hitting the Home button will cause speak to stop instantly - that's what I do.

An error occurred while saving the comment Do you know that if you long-press Back or select History you can go directly to a previous results list - you do not have to press Back repeatedly.

An error occurred while saving the comment Try long-pressing the App-switcher or Home button.
The Menu button is not always clearly visible on some recent phones. Sometimes it is represented by 4 horizontal lines or 3 vertical dots. Recent HTC devices may have a stripe along the bottom of the screen containing only 3 dots, or you may need to long-press the App-switcher or Home button.
https://code.google.com/p/and-bible/wiki/FAQ#Where_is_the_Menu_buttonHowever, I like this idea and it could be a simple solution to the failing long-press for context menu problem a few people have experienced recently. I might add an optional semi-transparent button to bring up the Verse context menu.

An error occurred while saving the comment Hi Mike,
Swipe left/right to go to prev/next chapter. Swiping also works in Compare Translations and Footnotes screens.

An error occurred while saving the comment I hadn't noticed this comment before, but you may be interested in a related feature I have just implemented: a longPress-backButton to bring up the history list from which you can select any item and not lose any history. I also increased the history length to 1000.
Is this sufficient? I don't know how one would interact with a circular history. -

An error occurred while saving the comment I have re-added 'search current book' in the latest release.
An error occurred while saving the comment It is tricky to fit everything on a mobile screen. I actually implemented 'Search current book' but hid the option because the screen was too crowded.

An error occurred while saving the comment You should be able to manually install the NET full version, purchase a key from bible.org and enter it into the .conf file manually.
There is a paragraph on manual module installation in the FAQ: http://code.google.com/p/and-bible/wiki/FAQ
I have not tested this yet.

An error occurred while saving the comment What I was really thinking about in my original suggestion was a menu redesign (not tabs) as described here:
http://code.google.com/p/and-bible/wiki/MenuOrganisationAn error occurred while saving the comment You sort of' get this (4 tabs) in the new release. I have added 2 more quick-buttons at the top for quick nav to bible, commentary, dictionary, book.
My original aim was to minimize screen clutter and maximize space for bible text by only having one permanent toolbar at the top, but I think I may have been a bit too minimalistic. PS used to have a bar at the top and bottom.
I see many bibles have auto-vanishing toolbars which might be a good idea.

An error occurred while saving the comment I don't understand this request. Currently you see Strongs by pressing on the Strongs number after the word. Are you requesting that I hide the numbers and add long-press links to each word?
An error occurred while saving the comment You can see the Greek Letters by downloading 'Real Strongs' instead of 'Strongs' in the normal way from the Document Download list.

An error occurred while saving the comment The initial suggestion has a mistake: you don't long-press in the middle of the verse you want, you can long-press anywhere on the screen because the verse at the top of the page is the current verse you will perform actions on. However, it would be better if it did act as the requester mistakenly assumed.
I had a plan to reorganise the menu system by using submenus (http://code.google.com/p/and-bible/wiki/MenuOrganisation) which would remove long-press totally but I haven't implemented it yet.
I have added an issue for this: https://github.com/mjdenham/and-bible/issues/135
